Kristin is a community-driven media recommendation platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — email address and password (hashed) when you create an account. Optional profile details like display name and bio.
• User-generated content — reviews, ratings, suggestions, and list items you create.
• Usage data — anonymous page views and performance metrics via Vercel Web Analytics (no personal data, no cookies).

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the service — authenticate you, display your content, and personalize your experience.
• Improve the platform — understand usage patterns through anonymous analytics to make the product better.
• Communicate with you — send essential account-related emails (confirmation, password reset).

We use the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication. Your account data and content are stored on Supabase servers.
• Vercel — hosting and analytics. Vercel Web Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data without cookies.
• TMDB (The Movie Database) — movie and TV show data. We send search queries to TMDB's API. No personal information is shared.

Under GDPR and similar privacy regulations, you have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — update or correct inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
